Eva, Eron and StuartStuart McCarthy is an exceptional young man, living and supporting his family in Uganda.

His mission is to ensure two of his sisters, Eva and Eron, secure a tertiary education and take their place as equal, independent and contributing members of modern society.

"I have a few dreams, but one of them has been to have two of my sisters educated."

Stuart reflects on the community in which he was raised;

"Most parents had to depend on crop growing as a source of income. Since education in Uganda was and is expensive, most families would sell all the harvest to have enough money for school fees.

Crop growing is unpredictable. Some times the harvests were good and other times they were bad because of the changes in weather. When the harvests were bad, there was not much to sell and consequently no money for fees. Children from the affected families would end up changing schools, building debts wherever they went. In the end they would sit home, and that was the end of school life.

My family was not different from these other families. If the harvest was bad, most of the community would be affected. But am so glad that my family did their best to keep me at school.

Now see where I am?
